TIKES, which is an acronym for The Intelligent
Kidnap Evasion System, is aimed at PREVENTING kidnappings
rather than reacting to them. Very simply, TIKES™ consists
of affordable products which, when implemented together,
can dramatically reduce the threat of home abductions.

The window pin is a steel pin, approximately three inches
long and one quarter inch in diameter. It is installed into
the wood frame of a window or sliding door making the window/door
nearly impossible to open regardless of the type of existing
locking system. |
|
|
 |
 |
Follow installation instructions so windows can be pinned
in two positions: |
| 2) |
Open with no more than a 4-inch space. |
 |
With windows pinned it is almost impossible for an intruder
to enter through a window without breaking the glass, which: |
| 1) |
Makes a lot of noise, alerting both the child and the
parents. |
| 2) |
Creates a dangerous condition through which the intruder
must now pass, or give-up. |
| 3) |
With windows pinned, the intruder will most likely have
to exit your home the same way he came in, through the
house. This provides parents a tactical advantage in that
the intruder will most likely have to come back in the
direction of the parents rather than through a window,
in the opposite direction. |

 |
Follow installation instructions so that opening a window
or door will sound an alarm. |
 |
If an intruder were to find a way in through a window
or door, an alarm will sound that can be heard in the
master bedroom |
 |
If a child tries to leave the bedroom through a window
or door, an alarm will sound that can be heard in the
master bedroom. |
|
|
 |
 |
Follow installation instructions so that entering the
Child’s bedroom will automatically turn on the lighting
in the room. |
 |
The loud alarm will probably scare-off the intruder.
However, if the intruder persists, lighting provides
another level of alarm as intruders don’t like
being seen. The light will also disorient the intruder
for a couple of moments until his eyes adjust, which
could be helpful to the parents as they arrive in the
room. |
|
| |
|
 |
 |
When the intruder enters the child’s bedroom, this
activates the nanny cam, which records the intruder’s
every move, as well as sending a second alarm to the master
bedroom. |
 |
An intruder who has not changed his mind after two
audible and one lighting alarm is probably determined
to continue his plan at all cost. This is very important: |
| 1) |
The parents need to know how committed the intruder
is. |
| 2) |
The police stand a much better chance of an early retrieval
of the abducted child if they have an accurate description
of the kidnapper. |
