| Safe environments protect
people from natural and/or manmade threats, through defensive and/or offensive
systems.
creates exceptional safe environments and extraordinary levels of protection
by providing systems that isolate protected individuals from harm while
at the same time, remotely helping to eliminate the threat.
Unfortunately, conventional wisdom has our home
as our castle, and our electronic alarm system as our defense. Nothing
could be further from reality.
The average home provides little if any resistance
to invasion. While the average alarm system does little more than place
the intruders on notice that they must hurry and complete whatever they
came to do.
"Half Hour Principle™"
Once an alarm is triggered, the police
typically take up to 30 minutes or more to arrive. Anything that is going
to happen after an intruder enters, is most likely going to happen within
the first 15 minutes; be it theft, assault, kidnapping, murder, etc. By
the time the police arrive, the damage is usually done, and more often
than not, the intruders are long gone. In essence, time is the critical
factor to ensure a safe outcome. The "Half Hour Principle™"
requires that the occupants be kept safe from harm for at least
30 minutes from the time their alarm system is activated.
While Safe Rooms ("Panic
Room") have been the focus of much public attention,
as stand alone facilities in residential applications their
effectiveness is questionable. However, when used in conjunction
with a Safe Core, the Safe Room becomes an effective control
and safety center, an integral part of the overall Safe
Environment.
In corporate applications, a stand alone
Safe Room may provide an adequate level of protection. However, a Safe
Core is generally specified in the final analysis.
"Safe Environments"
Aesthetically and strategically, it is
very important to achieve the required level of security and provide the
necessary hardware as transparently as possible. What is most unique about
's
secure environments is that their high level of safety is provided without
any of the usual visual encumbrances. Security features are almost entirely
transparent to the occupants. Though specific designs and specifications
cannot be made public, the following model provides the concept behind
some of 's
safe environments.

Hidden within the walls,
ceilings and floors, can be some of the available security
features illustrated in the following plan.

's
unique Safe Core is a steel reinforced,
bullet resistant zone that seals and protects all bedrooms allowing
family members and guests to remain together and move freely
within the Core. Inside the Safe
Core, Corbi typically includes a higher level of security;
an impenetrable window-less Safe Room
with a vault like door not available in the U.S. Incorporated
in his residential, commercial and Government facilities,
this ultra Safe Room is equipped
with monitoring, life safety equipment, air supply and a tamper
proof communications system which allows the occupants to
remain connected to the outside.
With solutions
ranging from a single ballistics rated door to fully armored automated
Safe Rooms with Tactical
Perimeters/Zones, and offensive robotics capabilities, brings
Homeland Security to the home. If you are looking for incomparable personal
security, Corbi turns panic into peace of mind, and above all, safety.
The following are examples
of the types of materials typically used in today's safe
environments:

custom and standard bullet and explosion resistant building
panels (opaque armor) are water resistant and non-oxidizing,
making them rust/mold proof and impervious to the passage
of time. They are ideal for most security applications, and
are easily installed in new or existing structures. If visible,
they can be decoratively finished by painting, covering with
contact bond wood veneer, vinyl or other available materials,
or left natural. One or two-sided gelcoat finished panels
are also available.
's
custom mold and fabrication capabilities, accommodates the
high-tech, minimal weight requirements of air and sea craft,
including the hydrofoil and helicopter.
Bullet resistant transparent
installations utilize a combination of plastic and /or glass
for indoor use where handgun/submachine gun protection is
the prime threat. For exterior durability and high threat
levels, a combination of monolithic glass or glass/plastic
is utilized.
